I got my copy of D&D 4th and just did my first pass through the system. Overall it rocks. Much better the 3.5 in every possible way 'cept the art. I also picked up some of their dungeon tiles, which also rock as they are made of the same cardboard that is used in the Avalon Hill games. This is significantly better then the other map making tiles I have found that are not hex based. Got to talk to Frank and see what form of stat generation we will be using, and then I will start on my first character in the new system. I will be doing a fighter of some sort the goal will be to find a good miniature and use that as the basis for the character. Looking at the schedule there is really no reason to attempt to min max the game until about December.
